Home : A Call To Action
SavetheartsCT.org is a coalition of arts advocates working to support an increase of $10 million a year to support operational and capital programs for Connecticut’s cultural community. Each year, more than 22 million people enjoy our state’s theaters, museums and other cultural activities. We are seeking an effective approach to protecting and preserving the financial stability of programs that add vibrancy and richness to our lives and boosts Connecticut’s economy.
To be realized, a reliable art’s funding mechanism such as the cable tax must be approved by the members of the Connecticut General Assembly. We ask your help to gain their support for additional funding by taking a few moments to contact your legislators through our email system below or by sending a letter to your legislators at the listed addresses.
Remember, time is running out. The legislature’s Commerce Committee recently rejected Governor Rell’s funding proposal for the arts. If no action is taken by the legislature to fund the arts, we will have lost the best opportunity in decades to stabilize, diversify and grow arts and culture programs in Connecticut.
